7 Steps to Achieving Healthy Self-Esteem

Those that are the happiest are those that do not judge, live kindly, and love themselves. Have you ever wished to be like those that are perpetually happy? You can become one of them with some effort and time. Here are seven steps that can help you become a healthier, more content version of yourself.

RECOGNIZE: Everything we do is a result of a decision that we make. Whether it be something small, like what to eat for breakfast, or something big, like career decisions, it is our choice to make. We have the power to determine our future and self-awareness. We all have unique gifts and talents, and by discovering them, we can become the person we want to be.

ANALYZE: It is important to be honest with yourself and to examine the things you like and don’t like about yourself. Make a list of positives and negatives, and create a plan to move the negatives to the positive side. Find people with similar goals and objectives to help you stay on track.

REINFORCE: Speak positively to and about yourself. Repeat positive affirmations like “I am successful,” “I am pretty,” and “I am fun!”

FORGIVE: We are all imperfect, so it is important to forgive yourself for mistakes. Don’t dwell on the past, but focus on the present and future.

REJUVENATE: Be a friend to yourself and to others. Be a giver, not a taker, and you will feel better about yourself.

BE GRATEFUL: Acknowledge all of the gifts, talents, and things you possess. Offer thanks to your creator and pray for those who are less fortunate than you.

ACCEPT: Do not accept the fate that others dictate, but create one for yourself. Believe in kindness and yourself and you can achieve anything. When you have faith, self-esteem will come naturally. Know yourself, like yourself, and live life as if everyone is in their underwear!
